The purpose of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (located here in Austin, TX) is to educate people about the environmental necessity, economic value, and natural beauty of native plants.

City of Austin Watershed Protection Department

The department's mission is to reduce the impact of flooding, erosion, and water pollution on our community in order to protect lives, property, and the environment.  The department runs the Grow Green program, http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/growgreen/, which encourages and educates people about green landscaping using native and adapted plants to conserve water and protect water quality.

Texas Parks and Wildlife

Native Plant Society of Texas
